When Tia discovered her dying parents on Monday morning after being awakened by gunshots at five years old, Tia Hernlen dialed 911. It was all over the news, and people praised her for how she handled the situation while maintaining her composure despite being so young.

The girl spoke with Volusia County Sheriffs’ dispatcher Donna Choufani for a remarkable five minutes, and she successfully handled the situation. She said,

“My mommy and daddy…I think there is a bullet and the floor ….And there is blood pouring out of my father’s mouth, and he has fallen off the bed.” 

Her father, Aeneas, was treated at the Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach before passing away. Julie, on the other hand, was dead before the police arrived.

Is David Edward Johnson Still In Jail?

After killing Julie and Aeneas, he was arrested by the local police. However, David killed himself shortly after his arrest. According to sources, he shot himself in the head. 

In addition, after being detained for possession of marijuana and steroids, David Edward Johnson, according to officials, targeted Aeneas and Julie. He believed that they were the ones who turned him to the police. According to some online sources, David and the late couple were friends.

According to some online sources, Tia Hernlen is currently residing with family members, many of whom are furious that the police and the legal system did not do more to save the young family.
