Dusty Crum is an American reality star and one of the toughest snake hunters in the world. Crum has spent his entire life hunting pythons in the Florida Everglades.

Crum has been one of the prominent casts of the Discovery show, Guardians of the Glades. Besides, Dusty has been working in the History channel reality show, Swamp People.

Dusty Crum is a Bounty Hunter

Crum is a registered python bounty hunter. He gets paid for capturing pythons like catching most wanted criminals. He works for the South Florida Water Management District that embarked on a conservative program to safeguard the South Florida Everglades from the invasive reptiles.

As per Sun-Sentinel,  a python bounty hunter gets $8.65 an hour and additional bounties depending upon python’s length. The site reported the hunter gets an additional $50 for the first 4 feet and $25 for every foot thereafter.

Previously Worked in Construction

Dusty Crum doesn’t talk much about his profession before he started capturing snakes. However, some online sources report he worked as a construction worker, digging ditches, pouring concrete, and more.

But ever since he found his interest in catching snakes, he has never looked back in his career. Besides his association with the South Florida Water Department, Dusty Crum has also made his appearances in a couple of reality series for Discovery and History channels.

He is an Owner of Orchid Business

Dusty Crum and his longtime girlfriend, Natalee McKinney, co-run an orchid business. His girlfriend brought up the idea of doing orchid business, and they bought a wholesale shop in  Venice, Florida, named Orchid Envy.

The 40-year-old python hunter doesn’t talk about his relationship and girlfriend often. However, we can confirm that he is in a stable and longtime relationship with his girlfriend, Natalee McKinney. Like her boyfriend, Natalee is from Sarasota, Florida.

Natalee is an owner of Orchid Envy, the company she owns with her beau. Besides, she is a python bounty hunter and has collaborated with her lover to catch pythons. In an interview, Crum said when he met his girlfriend, she had been working in a greenhouse in Myakka. “I got interested in the science end of it,” he added.

He Holds a Record for Catching Python

Dusty Crum has held a couple of records in capturing an enormous Burmese python in Florida. He doesn’t hold the world record, but as part of a program to eliminate Burmese pythons from the Everglades.

Crum caught a huge python, measuring 16 feet, 11 inches, breaking the program’s record by 1 inch. Meanwhile, the previous record was also in his name; he had caught 16 feet 10 inches long python.

Dusty Crum also Sells Leather Products.

Crum describes himself as a wildlife conservationist. On the other hand, he and his team are involved in selling a collection of merchandise made from python leather. He and his girlfriend founded Florida Everglades Collections to support the bounty hunters financially.

Both Crum and his girlfriend promote the products on their respective Instagram and Facebook accounts.

He is a Reality Star

The 40-year-old python hunter has worked in a couple of reality shows. According to IMDb, Crum started appearing on the Discovery’s documentary show, Guardians of the Glades, in 2019. Likewise, he made his appearances on the History channel show, Swamp People in 2019. In 2020, Dusty Crum worked on the television show, the 2020 Python Bowl.
