His mother had a small shop in the village of Fatausi-Fogapoa. The oldest of Tuilagi brothers, Freddie once said that the family was neither wealthy nor poor.

Grew Up in a Big Family: Has Six Brothers

Alesana Tuilagi is raised along with six siblings Anitelea, Freddie, Henry, Sanele, Manu, and Olotuli. Except for their brother Olotuli, they all played rugby.

All of them got interested in the game since their early childhood days. They used to play on any available patch of beach, scrubland, or concrete.

Freddie is the oldest brother who played for English clubs Halifax Blue Sox and St. Helens. He came in the light after his association with Leicester Tigers (2000-04).

Furthermore, Henry Tuilagi is also a star athlete who previously played for many clubs in Italy and France. Similarly, younger brothers Anitelea, Sanele, and Manu also played for Leicester.

They all are huge in body size. Especially Alesana, who was often considered as a nightmare by many defenders. In 2019, former Canada winger Phil Mackenzie recalled the moment when Alesana saw him dead in the eye. He tweeted,

One of his Brother is a Crossdresser

Several sources report that Olotuli is the sister of the Tuilagi brothers. However, the truth seems to differ. The 6ft tall Olotuli is a man but he is a cross-dresser. When he dresses up as a woman, he goes by the name Julie.

The third eldest of seven children, Olotuli is the only Tuilagi brother who doesn’t play rugby.

Professional Career: Parma and International Debut

Alesana made his professional debut playing for Parma in 2002. He played two seasons with the team and also helped them to secure the semi-finals spot on the domestic competition as well as on the Parker Pen Shield.

In June 2002, Tuilagi made his debut for Samoa national team playing a qualifier match against Fiji for the 2003 Rugby World Cup. He also played for his country Samoa in the Rugby World Cup 2007 and 2011.

Leicester Tigers and Other Clubs

Alesana Tuilagi started playing for Leicester Tigers in 2004 and won many major titles with the team. After scoring two tries, the player became the Man of the Match in the 2006/07 Premiership Final win against Gloucester.

In October 2019, Aniva gave birth to their fourth child Alesana Tiafau Tuilagi. He announced the news via his Instagram post sharing the photo of the newly-born baby on 6th October. The gender of the baby is still a mystery.
