Alesana Tuilagi was born on 24th February 1981, in Fogapoa, Samoa. He is the son of Tuilagi Vavae and Aliitasi. His father is a former politician and served as the speaker of the Samoan government. He also held the position of high chief on the Fatausi village council.
His mother had a small shop in the village of Fatausi-Fogapoa. The oldest of Tuilagi brothers, Freddie once said that the family was neither wealthy nor poor.

Alesana Tuilagi is raised along with six siblings Anitelea, Freddie, Henry, Sanele, Manu, and Olotuli. Except for their brother Olotuli, they all played rugby.
All of them got interested in the game since their early childhood days. They used to play on any available patch of beach, scrubland, or concrete.
Freddie is the oldest brother who played for English clubs Halifax Blue Sox and St. Helens. He came in the light after his association with Leicester Tigers (2000-04).

One of his Brother is a Crossdresser
Several sources report that Olotuli is the sister of the Tuilagi brothers. However, the truth seems to differ. The 6ft tall Olotuli is a man but he is a cross-dresser. When he dresses up as a woman, he goes by the name Julie.
The third eldest of seven children, Olotuli is the only Tuilagi brother who doesn’t play rugby.
While his brothers are busy in their careers, he stays home, taking care of their parents.
Professional Career: Parma and International Debut
Alesana made his professional debut playing for Parma in 2002. He played two seasons with the team and also helped them to secure the semi-finals spot on the domestic competition as well as on the Parker Pen Shield.
In June 2002, Tuilagi made his debut for Samoa national team playing a qualifier match against Fiji for the 2003 Rugby World Cup. He also played for his country Samoa in the Rugby World Cup 2007 and 2011.
Leicester Tigers and Other Clubs
Alesana Tuilagi started playing for Leicester Tigers in 2004 and won many major titles with the team. After scoring two tries, the player became the Man of the Match in the 2006/07 Premiership Final win against Gloucester.
